How to find us
We are located in a beautiful but rural location. To reach us you will have to drive along approximately 2 miles of narrow lanes. Search for Watchcombe House B&B on Google Maps and get directions from there rather than using your car satnav.
From Axminster:
Take the A35 towards Honiton, a mile after Kilmington, turn left opposite Landrover 4U, signposted to Shute and Colyton.
As you come out of Shute take right hand turn down to Umborne.
Follow the road round to the right and under railway bridge and keep straight on to the T junction.
Here turn right to Umborne, go past the Village Hall on left and through the village.
Then turn right signposted to Watchcombe and go all the way to the top of the hill.
Watchcombe House is on the left by the no through road sign.
Turn immediately left into the gravel driveway.
From Honiton:
Take the A35 towards Axminster. Go past the BP petrol station on your right.
Shortly after this, turn right signposted to Recycling Centre which you will pass on your right.
Continue along lane for approximately 1 mile up the hill.
In the woods take a left fork signposted Umborne.
Follow the winding lane for about another mile passing a large farm and other buildings on the left and a cream house on the right.
Watchcombe House can be found on the right by the no through road sign.
Turn immediately left into the gravel drive.
From Colyton:
From the centre of Colyton go straight down Queen Street by the Library and follow the road onto King Street. Go straight on over the bridge and out of Colyton.
Take the right fork signposted to Umborne.
Go up the hill and then, after about 1 mile take a right fork to Umborne.
Continue on and follow the sign to Watchcombe for driving to the top of the hill.
Watchcombe House is on the left by the no through road sign.
Turn immediately left into the gravel driveway.
Once you arrive, walk along the path to the main front door.
